NFL Roundup: Denver Edge Hapless Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

In a low-scoring contest on Sunday, the Denver Broncos clinched a 13-11 victory over the winless New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter scoring strike and kicker Wil Lutz provided the late go-ahead field goal to secure the ugly win.

Defensive Display Seals Contest

Despite registering nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after conceding a two-point play in the second half. Interestingly, the Jets could only produce just 82 offensive yards throughout the contest.

The Denver quarterback, who completed 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a critical 12-play, 65-yard possession that culminated in Lutz's 27-yard field goal with just over five minutes remaining.

Record Difficulties for Jets Attack

In spite of their horrendous performance, the Jets still had possession with a opportunity to score a potential winning score. But Fields was sacked on fourth down from the Denver 44 after head coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it instead of calling on specialist Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

The Jets quarterback struggled all game, connecting on just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York finished with negative ten net yards passing, the lowest in any game since 1998.

"The aerial attack was completely absent," Glenn commented after the game.
