Helicopter Spins Wildly into Palm Groves at Popular Southern California Beach
A chopper flying near a popular coastal coastline abruptly began spiraling wildly, eventually losing altitude and smashing into a row of palm groves as beachgoers looked on.
Videos shared online show the aircraft starting to spin over the shoreline then plunging towards the border of the beach, where it becomes wedged among palm trees and a steps adjacent to the coastal road.
Emergency Response Information
Emergency responders said five individuals were transported to a medical facility including two who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the accident on the weekend.
Three people on the pavement were injured. Details on their wounds were still under review.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.

The department said the aircraft was connected to an annual “Cars with Copters” charity gathering planned for Sunday.
